AUSTIN, TX – John C. Jankowski started his own legacy 12 years ago while maintaining a name his father came up with in the 1980’s, Jancom. John started Jancom Technologies after moving to the Austin area from Houston.

Combining the first three letters of Jankowski with the first three letters of company, the name seemed to be a good fit. His father solely provided engineering services and called it Jancom Engineering back in the 1980’s. John was able to start a company with some of the same clientele he had in the past at his last company. With an engineer on staff, he also provides engineering services. Though they only have a staff of 10, Jancom has done work throughout the U.S. and in several countries.

“For a small firm in Austin, we have literally worked all over the world,” Jankowski said.

Jankowski is a graduate of Texas A&M University and is originally from Detroit. After working for a consulting firm in Houston, he decided to start his own business. He actually worked for his dad for a period of time when he owned Jancom Engineering and saw a growing need for technology and telecommunication services.

Though work occupies most of his spare time, he also enjoys motorcycle road racing and participating in the Entrepreneurs Organization (EO).  As a team, Jancom gives back to the community by putting together care packages to send to soldiers who are overseas. They have sent several packages to American soldiers deployed in Afghanistan.

Jancom Technologies specializes in designing buildings to be adaptable to technology and specialize in engineering and design/build.  –km
