“I went to Houston and spent a year looking for a business to buy. With my background in construction, this was the best deal I could find,” Jackson said.

Originally known as KC Rentals in Round Rock, Jackson said they have changed the name to Kris-Con Rents.

Though Jackson travels back and forth from Houston to Round Rock for business, he resides in Houston. He has two grown children, ages 22 and 26, who both live in Austin.

When he isn’t busy at work, he hunts and enjoys the outdoors. He has a beach house he likes visiting on the Texas coast, and he travels to his home country of England at least once a year to see his family.

Prior to moving to Texas in 1986, Jackson lived in Venezuela for a period of time in the 1970’s and early 80’s. He has worked in the construction industry all of his life in countries such as Mexico, Pakistan and Algeria.

Jackson says it is the staff at Kris-Con that has made his job enjoyable. Between both branches, the company has about 60 employees.

“We have great people. That’s what makes a business is the people. We are very fortunate to have ended up with some really good people both here and in Houston,” he said.

Kris-Con rents equipment and sells construction supplies. –km
