SAN ANTONIO – 'Twas the night of the Gala on December Two
When the Alzafar Shrine gleamed with lights shining through.
With the six hundred fifty-two new toys donated
The Construct a Kids' Christmas staff was elated,
And their tables were laden with silent auction offers
In hopes that the bidders would soon fill their coffers.
The guests were all blingy with glitter galore
And nibbled on fancy hors d'oeuvres by the score.
Then the auctioneer shouted, "Let the bidding begin!"
And the live auction started with big bids coming in.
One thousand, two thousand, three thousand in cash
Soon began filling up Santa's Christmas stash.
And what with the raffles and other things on hand,
The non-toy donations soon reached fifteen grand.
When the evening's activities were finally over,
A large man arrived in a bright, red Land Rover.
He picked up the money, he loaded each toy
And the gleam in his eyes showed the light of pure joy.
Said he, "Tell the donors, sponsors, associations and committee
