VBX (formerly The Builders Exchange of Texas) has provided plan room services to the construction industry in Texas since 1900.  We are affiliated with over 20 construction trade associations in Texas, including the Associated General Contractors of America and the Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC).  VBX routinely receives bid advertisements and documents from project owners (including municipal, state and federal agencies), architectural firms and other plan issuers throughout the state.  In turn, that information is distributed through our Virtual Plan Room service to make contractors aware of these bidding opportunities.  

VBX has a full-time reporting staff that maintains contact with plan issuers throughout the bid cycle to make sure our information is current, including notifying the construction industry about bid date extensions, addenda and updated bidders lists.

• Overview of VBX product and history

• Explanation of VBX Desktop page and Admin tools

• OCR filters creation, Project Quick Search and Geographic Region

• “Tracking features” and organizational tools within each prospective bid opportunity

• Will illustrate how documents are accessed, printed, emailed, downloaded. (.tif/.pdf), complete bid lists (we post ALL General Contractors bidding and their     contact information).  Will explain how Generals can see an “audit trail” of interested bidders.

• How to track projects post-bid.  We will use examples of projects that have recently bid and show the Apparent Low Bidders/ Contract Award.

• Will demonstrate IPIN viewer (complimentary software with virtual subscriptions) and take off potential and how these take-offs can be used as as-builts , instructional, or references.

• Will demonstrate statistical research for GCs/Arch/Engs, and how Encyclopedia of Contractors works thru CSI divisional search or “Classified” search.

• Will discuss how different VBX services can be utilized to leverage bidding process.
