SAN ANTONIO – David Vexler, Monterrey Iron and Metal, and Robert Latimer Jr., Adobe Equipment, took an incredible three-week adventure to New Zealand in July. The two spent a week of exotic hunting on the North and South Islands and topped it off with a two-week tour of the South Island.

“We hunted the stag on the North Island and then flew to the Southern Alps on the South Island. That is where we hunted for the Tahr and the Chamois. We took a helicopter up these steep, snow-covered mountainsides, jumped out, and tried our best to get in position for a shot.  It was not easy in four feet of fresh snow.  It was the most intense 90 minutes of my hunting life,” said Vexler.

Vexler commented New Zealand has “crazier weather” than Texas. He reported, “We saw rain, hail, snow, and sunshine all in the same hour.”  –dn
