SAN ANTONIO – Kris Groda’s, Saltwater-fisheries Enhancement Association (SEA) vice president, favorite hunting buddy is his 105 lb. Yellow Lab, Drake, a “dove retrieving machine.” 
Groda said, “When Drake was two years old, he crawled up into a mesquite tree to get a bird out of it. I was looking all over the ground and Drake kept looking in the tree. I couldn’t find the bird. Finally, Drake climbed up the tree, and I saw the bird was hanging up in the tree. Drake climbed up about five feet off the ground trying to get that bird. He has been a hunting machine since he was nine months old. He’s a natural at it.”
