HOUSTON – M.D. (Mike) Bishop, president and CEO of Houston-based Formwork Services & Supply LP, recently took a trip to the Kalahari Desert in Namibia, just northwest of South Africa. He shared photos of his adventure with Construction News.

Bishop says during the trip, he saw a black mamba snake and was able to snap a quick photo.

“Close to the most deadly snake in the world, you have very little time to get antivenom if hit by one of these things, and they are extremely fast, as I found out when I took one picture too many,” Bishop said. “Fortunately, he went the other way.

“I also had the chance to see a giraffe on my trip.  Tame zoo animals were not on my priority list, but they make good photography!  In addition, the sunsets in Africa rivaled anything I have ever experienced on 30 years of West Texas hunts!”  –ab
